Cécile Jeffrey is a family led luxury knitwear company based in South London. The label, established in 1982 creates elegant knitwear from the
finest Italian yarns because they are the best in the world.
We work in small batches to produce a niche line of knitwear manufactured in London.
Each garment is fully-fashioned, meaning that yarn is not wasted; then the garment pieces are linked together before being finished by hand.
Our collections are not trend driven, we have always believed in slow fashion. Each season is part of a design journey inspiring the next step
along the way.
We design and make timeless clothing, energised by the wearer, each garment loved and worn for many years, eventually passed on to the next
generation.
Cécile has spent a lifetime working with knitwear, designing, making and creating elegant and structured pieces. Since the early 1980’s she has strived to innovate using techniques unique to the knitted structure so as to create more than just sweaters and cardigans. Cécile adds a timeless elegance and drama to everyday clothing. Taking a cone of yarn, deciding the stitch, the pattern, the structure to produce a garment completely inhabited by and expressive of the wearer with a signature, recognizable look. This constant expression and innovation is as relevant and avant-garde as it ever has been, and Cécile’s creative eye continues to drive the brand forward.
“Inspiration is everywhere; designs have manifested in dreams, in the time between sleeping and waking; when mindfully repetitively knitting and, sometimes, as just a passing thought that you strive to recapture. My aim is always to create beautiful, unusual slow fashion pieces that provoke an emotional response in the wearer.”
